Daylight Hours:

• One headlight or ditch light fails, continue in service; two return trips allowed.
• Both headlight and ditch light fails, or 3 of 4 lights fail, continue to destination at Normal Speed, Restricted Speed over level crossings.
• All lights fail, continue to destination at Restricted Speed, 10 km/h over level crossings.

Hours of Darkness:

• One headlight or ditch light fails, continue in service; two return trips allowed.
• Both headlight and ditch light fails, or 3 of 4 lights fail, continue to destination at Restricted Speed.
• All lights fail, continue at Restricted Speed to next station; if possible, return to Wiri, otherwise recovery required. Stop at all level crossings, then proceed at a maximum of 10 km/h over the crossing.

• At speeds under 5 km/h: Both an active TM key and a pulled emergency egress lever open the traction loop. An active TM key triggers the PEI alarm and applies the emergency brake after 5 seconds if not reset.
• At speeds over 5 km/h: TM key activation has no effect. Emergency egress triggers an alarm but traction is only cut once speed drops below 5 km/h. The door will attempt to self‑close.
